Color Me Bad

VIA
When I first thought about redoing my office, the requirements were pretty simple - must have large desk.  However, anyone that knows me understands that I am not one to buy a desk, stick it in a room, and call it a day.  Color and personality would have to be part of the equation.  In order to do all that cohesively, though, I needed to decide on a style.

Let me just say that I freaking love color.  While those design magazines that feature homes with clean white walls and minimalistic decor are the definition of simplistic beauty, that just isn't me.  Not only is it not me, but if it was me, I imagine somehow my clusmy self would spill red wine all over everything and as a result I would have to spend several sleepless nights scrubbing until all is well again.  Of course, knowing my luck, I would probably somehow cut myself while cleaning up the aforementioned mess and be back to square one again.  After it was all said and done, I'd be sleep deprived and down to a size 0 from all the cleaning.  Yeah...white isn't my thing.

With that being said, my office style is going to be mix of bohemian chic meets mid century modern -  personality-packed like the rest of my house.

Here are a few rooms that make bold statements with color & decor, and what I love most is that they show you can have character without clutter.

What do you think of living with bright hues and less than minimalistic walls?
